I don't respect the socially conservative slant Paul injects into it, though. I didn't know it was this pronounced, and it's certainly helped me to solidify my opinion of him. The problem is that it -isn't- just his personal position, it taints everything else too. His support for creationism, his simplistic approach to gay marriage (don't get me wrong, I would love to see the government out of marriage, but as long as the system is the way it is, immigration rights is one thing I would name that states can't grant same-sex couples), don't ask don't tell... he simply is no libertarian.
